Build a realistic plan for downtime, support, movement, and the return to daily life.

Recovery is not simply the number of days away from work. It includes the help you may need at home, appointments, activity restrictions, social comfort, and the pace at which swelling or bruising changes.
When you speak with a provider, ask them to distinguish between medically safe activity, feeling ready for routine tasks, and looking ready for a public event. Those milestones can be different.
Build more margin into your calendar than you think you need. An unhurried recovery plan gives you more room to focus on following your care instructions.
